Four Vietnamese athletes left on Monday for the World Judo Championship that will kick off today at Tokyo's Yoyogi National Gymnasium.

De Mai Tinh” (Fool for Love), the most recognizable comedy from Vietnam this year will be screened in five cities in the US starting on September 10.

The first ever Vietnamese International Film Festival will take place in Hanoi on October 17 to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

Vietnam is confident it will get the go-ahead to host several major sporting events over the next 10 years. The biggest will be the 18th Asian Games.

A fair on international books in 2010 will be held in Hanoi under the theme “Celebrating 1,000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi” from sept 17-21.
